How many Halo units can I add to my Halo mesh network?

This Article Applies to:

In theory, you can add as many Halo units to your existing Halo mesh network. However, in the actual environment, the recommended number of Halo units depends on how they are connected and which model is used as the main Halo.

For most Halo models, in order to get a smooth network and app experience, we recommend up to 6 units in one Halo network.

For a few Wi-Fi 6/7 models like Halo H47BE, E47BE, H37BE, H90X, etc, you may add more units if needed, but we recommend no more than 9 units to ensure consistent performance.

Especially, please limit to no more than three consecutive wireless hops to minimize latency and maintain stable speeds.

Note:

A hop is a trip that a data packet that is transferred from one Halo unit to another Halo unit. The more wireless hops, the slower the speed would be.

Can different Halo models work together?

All Halo H series and E series models can work together to form a single Mesh network. However, when you mix different models, some advanced features may be unavailable if certain models do not support them yet.

Note: Halo H/E series and S series cannot work together. For example, H50G cannot set a mesh network with Halo S3/S12.

Tips:

1. Adding more Halo units does not always improve wireless throughput or stability. If your current setup already provides full coverage without dead zones, it is not necessary to add more units.

2. The above recommendations are for reference only. Actual performance may vary depending on your home layout, obstacles, and distances between units.

3. You may contact MERCUSYS Technical Support and provide your home layout plan to get more accurate recommendations.
